Care You Deserve
Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care Serving the High Country is the only community based, not-for-profit hospice serving Ashe and Watauga Counties, and one of two serving Avery. We have one mission—to meet the needs of patients and families facing the end of life. Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance companies pay for hospice care. Caldwell Hospice provides hospice care for anyone who needs it, regardless of ability to pay. Caldwell Hospice is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Medicare-certified, and licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Because of our desire to provide quality end-of-life care and our awareness of the existing need for services, we expanded our full range of services to Ashe, Avery, and Watauga Counties in January 2014. To ensure the same quality care in the High Country, Caldwell Hospice has a complete expert care team who live and work in the Ashe, Avery and Watauga Counties. The team is led by a physician and consists of nurse practitioners, nurses, certified nursing assistants, medical social workers, chaplains, and specially trained volunteers who are solely dedicated to caring for High Country patients. All services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our team cares for patients in their own homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals or in one of our patient care units located in Lenoir and Hudson in Caldwell County. We provide grief support services to hospice patients and their families, and anyone in the community who needs our help coping with grief.
Don't let our name fool you, Caldwell Hospice is very much a part of the High Country community and has established relationships with Ashe Memorial Hospital, Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, physicians, and long-term care communities throughout the region to focus on the needs of our community. Guided by a local advisory council, your dedicated care team is committed to providing you with the care you deserve.
